It was founded on November 29, 1899 by Swiss player Hans Ganber and is one of the traditional powerhouses in La Liga. It is also one of the most successful clubs in European and even global football today. The home stadium, Camp Nou Stadium, can accommodate nearly 100000 spectators and is the largest football stadium in Europe and the third largest in the world.
As of August 2016, Barcelona has won a total of 24 La Liga championships, 28 Copa del Rey (ranking first in the history of Copa del Rey), 12 Spanish Super Cups, 2 Eva Cups, and 2 Spanish League Cups domestically in Spain; Internationally, we have won 5 UEFA Champions League trophies, 4 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, 3 International City Expo Cups, 4 UEFA Super Cups, and 3 Club World Cups. In the IFFHS International Club Rankings, Barcelona ranked first in 1997, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2015. On August 13, 2018, Barcelona reversed Sevilla 2-1 and won their 13th championship. On September 28, 2018, the new team emblem was released. In February 2019, the Ballon d'Or media "French Football" magazine selected the 30 most influential clubs in history, with Barcelona ranking second.
